The National Beta Club is a nationally recognized honor society and service organization. It was founded in 1934, and now has over 8,400 clubs in 42 states and 8 territories. Its prestige comes from both its outstanding, dedicated members and it commitment to serving the community. Our motto is “Let Us Lead By Serving Others”. Our purpose is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership and service.

Cordova High School’s Beta Club is one of the most well-respected organizations in the school. Our members exemplify the best that Cordova High School has to offer: students committed to both achieving academically and giving back to their community. Membership is based on the student’s GPA and completion of service hours. Upon the end of each student’s Beta Club experience, he or she will receive an honors stole at graduation. Colleges and universities respect Beta Club’s reputation for leadership and service, and weigh volunteer work and community involvement very heavily. Participation in Beta Club not only makes students stand out to colleges. The experiences students will have help them become more well-rounded and better prepared for their soon-to-come college and adult lives.

The main focus of Beta is leadership and service. Students have the opportunity to participate in open elections and serve as President, Vice-President, Secretary, or Reporter. These positions give students insight into commanding attention and leading a group, as well as the opportunity to organize and lead service events. These positions are only held for a year and newly elected officers are installed in the Fall of each new school year.
